They approach the Christmas and like any self-respecting firm, the male line of Mango brings his unique style of dress for the upcoming Holidays. Entitled ` Evening Special Edition ' provides a brief campaign that focuses on a relaxed style with pants cowboy and American protagonists.

Mango continues its losing streak and eventually disappoint the gentlemen. Maybe I'm exaggerating, so it is best that we comment on this campaign and tell me if it’s not right….

The Campaign 

Just Gerard Piqué

The campaign opens with Gerard Pique and an invitation to more relaxed attire. `What becomes casual trend? A more relaxed party where the Americans are mixed with denim ‘, is recited over the image of the player.

If you hover over the clothes you see Gerard Piqué, one can access information more detailed proposals for the firm. Above, we have an American velvet (50 €) and a shirt white with black buttons (46 €).

If we continue to explore with the cursor, theyshow pants jeans (50 €), a black tie (20 €) and some shoes also the same color (80 €). A final set that I would recommend to any party and I will explain why:

I think it's right that Mango bet on relaxed looks, not everything will be protocol and formality. The problem is that these looks often rub the line between sophistication and tacky, and in this case the fire has gone out for the second option.

The look that shows Mr. Pique, has been chosen as a very stylish clothes velvet jacket, a tie and some shoes. All black color, the color most stylish according to protocol. Why? For combine them with some jeans, casual pants par excellence.

Viewed this way seems the perfect equation:

Elegant garments + casual clothes = perfect relaxed look

Well no. For my taste, the result is equal to tacky look and slightly inappropriate. My opinion is that if you want a relaxed look, there are other American in tone (like brown and gray) in tweed fabrics you will find a perfect balance and that Men Chic we show almost daily.

The Shoes

Another thing I've been looking for some time in Mango and I do not understand is the poor definition they give to their shoes. The shoes they have left, are oxford kind (as they are called in the web) but Blucher. An example of said oxford shoes can be found in the right part of the image, belonging to these particular Lottusse.

If you look, the main difference is in the blade where it joins the laces. In blucher are above the front of the shoe and in the oxford do below.

The Velvet Blazer 

If we move forward in the brief campaign, we run into another set that eventually finish the job. This time, to make the contrast greater elegance, informality has opted for a jean worn and some black boots.

I return to this influence; mix a bow with some broken jeans is not going to become the man most sophisticated and modern in the evening.

The Suit

Not everything is bad and now I recommend  to you rightly one black suit with accessories in the same color to the sometimes more important and formal. True, this look is relatively plain and boring, but according to the protocol is right for English dress night parties.

The Accessories

Finally, the campaign ends with a line of Accessories black color and a brief but also successful advice to choose tie.

There may be an exaggeration, but my impression is that HEbyMango has taken this campaign of recycling Mango images with little success, to make matters worse they had already used previously.

This bothers me because they are known by all the amazing campaigns that can be seen in the female plot, and above all, because the male line has the most interesting clothes to take advantage.

Anyway, hopefully with the arrival of the New year and new signing of the model Andres Velencoso better times for HEbyMang.
